'To be surrounded with the people and things that bring me joy' was Jennie's dream
Jennie from NSW is a single mother of three grown children, an ex-registered nurse, and someone whose life has always revolved around family, friendships, and community.
Living with metastatic bowel cancer, Jennie told us that ‘’the focus is now on making the most of the time I have remaining, surrounding myself with the people and things that bring me joy’’.
Jennie’s dream was simple, but deeply meaningful - to travel to Perth to spend precious time with her middle child, her son Joel.
‘’Due to the lengthy distance and travel costs, I rarely see Joel, and having an opportunity to visit him and to see his new home that he has worked hard for would mean the world to me,’’ explained Jennie.
‘’Time and moments with loved ones are becoming even more precious given my diagnosis. This would be an opportunity to create lasting memories with my son, celebrating all he has achieved, and sharing precious time together that neither of us will forget.’’
