Advanced bowel cancer
Peter is our 69-year-old Dreamer, living with advanced bowel cancer.
A simple and heartfelt dream
Peter had retired to a tiny town on the banks of the Glenelg River, on the border of South Australia and Victoria, to pursue his love of fishing. Together with wife Joyce, they have six children and step-children, mostly scattered throughout SA . However, his eldest son Jeremy moved to the Northern Territory, and since 2015, they had not been able to see each other, nor the older grandchildren, and had never met the newest grandchild now three-years-old.
So, Peter’s dream was heartfelt and simple – he longed to be able to reunite with his eldest son Jeremy and his family – to finally meet his wife and new grandson.
Nothing compares to a hug
"It would mean so much to me to actually see them in person and spend a few days with them. Phone calls are treasured but nothing compares to seeing family in person and being able to give them hugs. It’s difficult to express in words what it will mean to me to make this journey and the positive hope I have, that with your help, this dream can become a reality.” said Peter.
Thanks to the support of Tour de Cure, Peter and Joyce had a beautiful reunion with Jeremy and family and the smiles on everyone’s faces are clear to see.
