Shane is living with advanced brain cancer. His dream was to be up close to animals where he feels 'relaxed, comforted, loved, and safe'.
Canberra born Shane is 25 years old and living with advanced brain cancer. Now being cared for at Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice, Shane told us through his support workers that “I love animals, and I love how they make me feel. I feel relaxed, comforted, loved, and safe when I am with animals. I love receiving cuddles from them and I love petting them. I've never held a koala before; I have seen them from a distance but never up close and I would like to have the experience. I like the furry, cuddly, unique animals that you don’t always get to encounter.”
We love these photos of Shane looking relaxed, comfortable, loved and safe! Shane along with his sister and her family, got up close to a koala, visited some other animals, and held some not so furry reptiles at Featherdale Wildlife Park. A “wonderful time” had by all.
Shane’s dream is just one of many made possible by the kindness of Chris Williams and his amazing supporters. By taking part in the Ironman Triathlon, and his incredible fundraising efforts, Chris raised $12,360 earlier this year. These funds will help create so many dreams in 2025 for Dreamers across Australia. Thank You Chris for everything you have done for Dreams2Live4 and the dreams you will help fulfill.
