Katie's dream was to celebrate her son's double digit birthday
Katie’s dream was to celebrate her sons ‘double digit’ birthday.
Mason is moving into double digits and his mother Katie wanted to give him the most amazing 10th birthday. Katie is living with advanced breast cancer. She told us “As a large family of 6 we haven’t been able to put on many parties for our kids, as they are just too expensive, but we’ve always made the 10th special. I have been sick most of Masons life with him only being 5yrs old when first diagnosed. I have not been able to be the same mum to him as his older siblings with so much treatment over the years. I would love him to have memories of me that are fun, not just visiting hospitals or sitting on a lounge watching movies with me.
With the time I have left making these memories for my kids to remember me is most important. My mother lost her own mother at 10yrs old, and she said she didn’t remember her as she got older. I would love for Mason to have positive memories of me to hold on and remember me as time fades me away from his life.
Mason celebrated his double-digits with a go-karting birthday for all the family. “Was just an awesome day for everyone. I loved the thrill and zooming around the track. Was just fantastic and so much fun!”
With thanks to Lumus Imaging for helping us to realise this dream.
