Since emigrating to Australia in 2018 Katie's style of painting has been inspired by the bright Australian sunshine, the varied landscape and diverse wildlife.
"I am drawn to the ocean and love to capture it on canvas. I like to inject lots of energy into my paintings by using a palette knife," said Katie.
"As an artist I have lots of time to think and reflect as I am creating. A lot of feelings can get poured into one painting."
"This painting came at an emotional time. As with all difficult times we go through different emotions. This is what inspired “Sunshine and Shadows,” said Katie.
"Painting brings me joy and happiness which I hope to share with other people."
