Karyn's dream was to be together as a family - to laugh, love and make memories for her family's story.
Karyn was diagnosed in 2023 with Stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer, the day before chemo was due to start, she was told it had progressed to Stage 4. “In that moment my world crashed and all I could think of was how I was going to tell my beloved family that I wasn’t going to be around.” Like many of our Dreamer’s - family is everything for Karyn, and with a new grandchild to meet and introduce to the young cousins, Karyn’s dream was to bring them all together again at her home in Central Queensland Coastal home for one last time whilst she was still relatively well.
Karyn said “My dream is about being together as a family so we can laugh, love and make memories of us being together. We do a lot of online, but not the same as being together in the flesh. I am hopeful to make it to meet my newest grandchild and spend this precious time together. I know my grandchildren won’t remember me, but the photographs are an important, they will serve as a comfort and reminder to those whom I will leave behind. My story, and our family story will not end and can live on in moments such as these.”
After Dreams2Live4 was able to help contribute to the cost of flights for her children and their families the family all came together Karyn said “My heart is so full. Our family gathering has left us all with such joy and memories which will last forever. Our time together was filled with so much, with the beach, fishing, games, cooking, craft and being together were key events. Mason, my grandson was so cute and talked unendingly about "bitching" on the beach with Daddy and Papa G (he has a lisp and can't say fishing). Mason was so excited and called everything an "adventure" and asked every morning what adventure was going to happen that day.”
How entirely adorable.
Karyn also added “This time together and memories will help us weather the hard times when they come and will remain forever as a testament of our love as a family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
