Sydney based Rose was studying for a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology before getting diagnosed with Breast Cancer towards the end of 2020. With Covid restrictions in place she was isolated from her family in New Zealand, and more locally from friends. Like many of our Dreamers, Rose has had her ups and downs since her diagnosis, treatment schedules, stress and financial worries all playing a big part in her life.

We were so happy that in partnership with Chris O’Brien Lifehouse that we could help Rose have her dream of a trip with her sister from New Zealand, to visit her nephew who she hadn’t seen for 15 years.

Rose wrote: “I am so grateful for the chance to not only experience the Daintree and Great Barrier Reef but seeing my nephew after 15 years was a homecoming that we both needed. Our lives had just passed each other by, there was no other reason except for money. Thank you from myself,  my sister, and my nephew. Your generosity reached us all.”
