Hey, my name is Ethan and I am taking part in the End of Year Send for the APL, in memory of my friend Joel, who sadly passed away due to a brain tumor. His battle lasted over a year, only to pass away in April at the age of 22. In the time he had left, he didn't sit back and let his life fade away. Rather, he continued to live life to the fullest, even going out of his way to help others going though similar experiences.

He truly inspired me not just as a friend, but a role model who I believe we can all learn something from. If there is one thing I've learned, it is to never take life for granted and do the things you love, and always be kind without expecting anything in return.

My friends and I were lucky enough to do something similar. We raised money for him to have a wonderful experience with us around September 2022. It was a trip that I'll never forget.

This is just one of the reasons I'm doing this. Both to honour his memory, and most of all to give someone in a similar position the chance to live their dream and make the most of time we're given.
