Coko wanted to be able to enjoy the sunshine in her own backyard with her kids
41-year-old Coko is a single mother to four gorgeous girls aged 22, 12, 11 and 7 – she is also living with advanced neuroendocrine cancer. When she was first in contact with our Dream Makers, she talked about “ticking an item off the bucket list” and asking for help to get her four girls and herself up to the Great Barrier Reef. After her second round of chemotherapy, she got in touch with them again saying
“I laid in bed with fatigue, unable to even get out of bed for longer than an hour and during that time just fighting nausea, I thought to myself, how I long to just sit in the backyard right now with the kids, them coming home from school and having a BBQ around a nice outdoor setting, and still being able to enjoy the sunshine with my kids.”
Coko’s dream was made possible thanks to the fundraising efforts of Eleanor the wife of a Dreamer, who organised the Clint Keil Golf Cup in 2023 - raising funds for dreams like Coko’s.
Coko and family kindly agreed to come and share their moving story at a Dreams2Live4 fundraising event – and there they told the audience they have BBQ’s every week and get out into the sunshine to relax on their outdoor setting provided by Dreams2Live4 regularly. We love that.
