To experience a childhood dream, to read the news.
When our dream-maker Louise first met Anesha at Chris O'Brian Hospital- her condition was critical.
"...leaning up against her hospital bed- she looked so weak. I didn't know if she had the strength to stand, let alone to dream. I thought, if I leave here with only the thought of a dream in her mind, that would be enough. Once we got talking, she told me that she knows exactly what she wants, "it's what I've always wanted" she said.
Ever since she was 10 years old she recalls sitting at the breakfast table and reading the paper aloud in the voices of her favourite news anchors. Thanks to @Peter Overton and the wonderful team behind Channel 9, Anesha, finally realised her dream.
In the time between the 'good' and 'bad' days of cancer treatment, Anesha spent the day experiencing some much deserved luxury. A personalised wardrobe fitting at the Channel 9 headquarters was followed by full hair and makeup. Looking and feeling like the anchor she'd always dreamed of, she toured the set and met the staff behind the scenes. Finally, she took her seat next to Peter and read her lines into camera. With a teary goodbye, Anesha signed off for the first and last time.
Just when she thought there could be no more surprises, Peter presented a helicopter for a sunset ride over the coastline.
This was such a beautiful day to witness- one that will become a fond memory for all involved. We could not have made this happen without the help of Channel 9, a huge thank you from all of us at Dreams2Live4. Watch Anesha's story below.
