Some dreams, for those living with advanced cancer, are worth their weight in gold.

Our Dreamer Stuart is a dad of three young kids, 7, 5 and 2.5 years old. He is also living with advanced cancer. His dream was unique and heartfelt – he wanted to hold an Olympic medal in his hands.

Dream Makers get to work

Our Dream Makers set to work and contacted our valued supporter and corporate lunch host Peter Overton AM who immediately got in touch with his friend Steve Titmus sports presenter on Seven News Brisbane, and father to a multi-Olympic medal holder Ariarne Titmus OAM.

An Olympic sized dream!

Steve Titmus kindly delivered some of Ariarne’s medals for Stuart and family to experience; and whilst there, Ariarne made a surprise FaceTime call to Stuart.

Stuart said “Seeing, holding, and wearing the medal let me indulge in a sports fantasy I’ve always had…imagining myself as an Olympic champion and the feeling of winning a gold medal for Australia.”
